Project Description: Hydraulic Oil Spill Cleanup

Project Details: Hansen Environmental were called to a residential site in Beechboro and responded within 1.5 hrs from the time of call being received.

A large area of road was covered with hydraulic oil from a lifting crane. We contained the main body of the spill with absorbent booms and covered it with global peat (which absorbs oil). Then the oil soaked material was swept and bagged for disposal.

A vacuum tanker unit was brought to site as a small amount of the oil had reached street drainage, this was vacuumed out and pressure washed clean.

Road work was then sprayed with bio cleaner degreaser and washed while vacuum truck and operators vacuumed up all water and residuals.

Fortunately the asphalt was not damaged due to prompt response and the clean-up methods employed.
